Artist in Residence, 09/2018 - Current 

Textile Arts Center - New York, NY

Textile Arts Center's Artist in Residence (TAC AIR) program equips emerging artists and designers with resources and skills to better articulate their practices and contribute to their communities. Situated at the intersection of a studio residency and an academic program, TAC AIR combines studio access with a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, regular critical dialogue and mentorship. The residency culminates in a group exhibition hosted by TAC together with a partner gallery, which showcases and promotes residents’ work at both a regional and national level through additional catalogue materials.

School of the Art Institute of Chicago Fashion department - Chicago, IL

Instructed and authorized students to operate industrial-grade sewing machines. Provided one-on-one fashion equipment support and troubleshooting for the entire fashion department including professors and students. Ensured the completion of deadline-sensitive office tasks in addition to taking phone calls, retrieving and delivering mail, entering student data, and effectively communicating and answering questions with common courtesies.

Assisted in making wedding dress and communicating with clients. Learned about the challenges of personal tailor business and some methods to satisfy the costumers with out sacrificing too much the integrity of a design. Learned beading technique. Created original design beading pattern and sewed beading samples.

Assisted Simon Gao in designing commercial clothing and in the meantime learning to work with designers in a team. Managed to learn the entire process for a studio form having an idea to create a runway show to present it.
